Prairie Dogs
written by Jennifer Nichole Porter
directed by Dana Packard
Synopsis
PRAIRIE DOGS is an intense, darkly comic character-driven
drama that deals with taboo subject matter without ever becoming
an “issue movie”. Like BLACK SNAKE MOAN, it integrates
a seldom-represented situation into a story to which people with
various backgrounds and perspectives will relate. The film has a
strong undercurrent of Country music, as the events that unfold are
centered around a Country bar in the Midwest.
Thematically, it owes something to Sam Shepard and
his poetically savage representations of the American Family.
